Caribbean
Islands
A destination with good walking and plenty to offer history buffs.
Mostly via a more developed island such as Antigua or Puerto Rico, or as part of a triangular route with another small island like Tobago.
Generally good year round.
A wide range from restored plantation houses to small homely inns.
One good long beach, but St Kitts is not generally well endowed in this respect.
Masses of wrecks, mostly still unidentified for the scuba diver, and good snorkelling. The summer months are best for diving with fewer visitors.
