In reality, Guadeloupe is a cluster of islands, with the two main ones, Basse-Terre and Grand-Terre linked by bridge over a narrow channel. The smaller islands are noted for their relaxed charm, but access is less convenient. Marie-Galante can be reached by small plane, the others by boat.
